ザ・リッツ・カールトン大阪の企業イベントでの書道パフォーマンス

From the archive, January 25, 2013: looking back on a sophisticated corporate event held in Osaka.

On the stage of a prestigious venue, I had the privilege of pouring a company's wish for the future into a single word.

A Calligraphy Performance at a Corporate Event, The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka

On this day I had the privilege of performing at an event hosted at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka.

Taking up the brush on the stage of such a refined space is a special, bracing moment.

Becoming one with the air of the room, I delivered a dynamic calligraphy session.

The Wish Held in the Word "Kenga"

The phrase I wrote on stage was 「懸河」 (Ken-ga).

Literally meaning "a rushing river" or "waterfall," this word describes movement that flows fluently and powerfully.

As in the idiom "Kenga no Ben" (eloquence like a rushing river), it captures the image of advancing without hesitation, like flowing water.

Powerful and Smooth, Like a Great River

Wishing for the company's business to flow powerfully and smoothly like a great river, I entrusted that hope to the tip of the brush.

I wrote the whole piece in one decisive movement.

Momentum, clarity, and the unstoppable flow of energy — all of it is held in the two characters of "Kenga."

A Performance That Offers a Word

A calligraphy performance at a corporate event is also a moment of offering a single word to everyone gathered there.

I put my heart into every stroke so that the meaning of the chosen word, and the wish behind it, stay in the memory of the room.

Records of calligraphy performances at corporate events are gathered on the PERFORMANCE page.
