From the archive, May 24, 2012: a project where the tranquility of Japanese aesthetics meets the comfort of modern living in my hometown of Kawagoe.

Art for a New Lifestyle

Kawagoe Cocolo-machi is a residential development born in a prime location, accessible within minutes from three major stations: Kawagoe, Kawagoe-shi, and Hon-kawagoe.

I was commissioned to coordinate the interior calligraphy art for its model house, envisioning a lifestyle enriched by culture.

"Ichigo Ichie" — A Once-in-a-Lifetime Encounter

The centerpiece of the living space is a work featuring the idiom "Ichigo Ichie".

In the context of a home, this phrase holds a special meaning — cherishing the unique encounter with the house itself, and the precious, fleeting moments spent with family within its walls.

Words that Live with You

In addition, I provided a variety of calligraphy art pieces ranging in size and style:

• "Yume" (Dream): inspiring aspirations for the future
• "Mai" (Dance): adding a sense of rhythm and joy
• "Rin" (Dignified): bringing a cool, composed atmosphere
• "Kizuna" (Bond): symbolizing family connection

Beyond the beauty of the letterforms, the meaning of each word quietly accompanies the daily life of those who live with it — that is what makes calligraphy art unique.

This project became one of the origins of my later work providing artworks for corporate and commercial spaces.
